Kelly’s Heroes and a madcap idea to mount a paintball cannon on top of an armoured personnel carrier have led to the success of a family-owned ‘tank battle’ business in Leicestershire. While much of the appeal Armourgeddon enjoys is down to the hard work of owners Stuart and Tracy Garner and their team, the star of the show has undoubtedly been their versatile fleet of FV432s. Designed as an armoured personnel carrier and manned by a crew of two, the FV432 was initially conceived in the 1960s as a vehicle to transport infantry on the battlefield. Those at Armourgeddon, however, have received some modifications and are manned by a crew of four while a compressed air cannon able to fire a 40mm paintball is now the main weapon on the turret.
