Chris Till’s restored M4A1 Sherman tank is named Berjou

Chris Till owns a restored M4A1 Sherman tank named Berjou which was scheduled to take part in the three-day Armour and Embarkation 2022 event over the third weekend of June, and then take an active part in the Tankfest arena display at the Tank Museum, Bovington, the following weekend. and drove the tank down to Dorset on the back of his articulated low loader. I was to photograph the Armour and Embarkation convoy driving through the streets but was disappointed to find that Chris’s Sherman had developed an engine fault and could not take part in the parade. Via Facebook I was amazed to learn that a second engine had been driven down to the workshops at the Tank Museum, Bovington, to enable the tank to complete a thorough test drive around the Tank Museum’s large arena.
