Chris van Schaardenburgh has always been fascinated with old vehicles and aircraft, both operating them and displaying them in museums. Starting with a course studying mechanical engineering in Rotterdam, his career has taken him to the US and back, and in 2015 he became The Tank Museum Head of Collections.
