Group Captain Alfred Basil ‘Woody’ Woodhall is famous for his vital role in the Battle of Britain, a senior sector controller who vectored his forces into battle with great precision and expertise. Not so well known are his early years in the military, which included serving as an infantry officer in the Royal Marines.
