When Canadian fighter pilot ‘ace’ Sqn Ldr ‘Johnny’ Kent tangled in a dogfight over Kent during 1940 he knew at once that his adversary was an old hand at air fighting and that the duel which ensued would certainly be a fight to the death; a case of ‘kill or be killed’.
