This UK-based tri-service and multinational exercise is a biannual event run by the Joint Tactical Exercise planning staff. It is designed to improve interoperability between allied nations and the ground phase of this year’s event was commanded by 16 Air Assault Brigade. The Airborne Infantry of 3 Para Battlegroup were supported by 2nd Jutland Dragoon Regiment (2JDR) a Danish-led mechanised infantry battlegroup which included contingents from Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and Sweden. This meant that there was an interesting mix of both armoured and soft-skinned vehicles on display. The majority of the action took place on Salisbury Plain and a capability demonstration held at Copehill Down offered an opportunity to view some of the assembled hardware close up.
