Artist Kevin Wills, a former member of the Royal Logistics Corps, has just completed a mission to paint the portraits of all 458 British ser vice personnel killed in action in Afghanistan.
In 2021, painter Kevin Wills, from Redditch, Worcestershire, began the Fallen of Afghanistan art project, an ambitious plan to paint the portraits of all 458 members of the British Armed Forces killed in action in Afghanistan between 2002-2021, to honour their sacrifice and preserve their legacy. With the help of fellow ex-serviceman Nigel Hancock BEM, he has presented the completed artworks to the families of the fallen.
However, with the final portrait completed last December, some 75 paintings remain unclaimed. Now Kevin and Nigel are appealing for help in contacting the remaining families.
