COMBAT VETERAN Supermarine Spitfire XVIe TB885 (G-CKUE) made its first post-restoration flight from Biggin Hill, Greater London, on 4 August, following a lengthy rebuild by The Spitfire Company (Biggin Hill). Well known warbird pilot Dan Griffith was in the cockpit for its first flight. The former 322 (Dutch) Squadron fighter, which entered service in March 1945 and flew 15 operational sorties in the Second World War, has been returned to airworthiness on behalf of owner Frits van Eerd.
