Good mix of vehicles for sale

Nigel Hay’s round-up of the military vehicle market

Jeep prices are probably one of the hotter topics discussed by military vehicle enthusiasts. Generally, the quasi-military Jeep, the CJ series models, fetch less money as they are not quite the ‘real thing’.So it was a surprise to see a 1947 Willys CJ2A offered at £45,000. Apparently still in its original Luzon red paint, this is probably going to appeal to the classic car market rather than the traditional military buyer – but there maybe someone out there with that kind of money who falls in love with it.

A Jeep that was ‘restored’ (I use that term loosely) by the Car SOS TV programme came onto Milweb at £25,000 and despite it having previously been damaged in a fire, there was a lot of interest. It quite quickly sold for £20,000 but just goes to show that TV provenance does not add value.
