Phil Loder chats to Tobin Jones, military vehicle enthusiast and co-founder of Track and Wheel

Tobin’s first vehicle was an Alvis Saracen like this one outside the Royal Signals Museum

If you have been to the We Have Ways Fest you will have seen the handiwork of Tobin Jones, Tom Cunningham, and the Track and Wheel team. As Hardware Partners and co-owners of the show, Tobin and Tom plan the vehicle, artillery, living history and arena parts of the event, invite vehicle owners and reenactor groups, and manage the onsite layout and deployment of the encampments and historic equipment. Tobin, however, has been involved in the military vehicle hobby for much longer, first buying an Alvis Saracen and then growing his collection steadily over the years. Most recently, the Track and Wheel team have brought along a selection of their historic vehicles and artillery to the We Have Ways Fest for attendees to enjoy, as well as supplying period vehicles for film and TV productions.
