Brevet Major John Knox VC
The medal group awarded to Brevet Major John Knox is quite exceptional because when it was offered for sale, it was accompanied by the cannonball that shattered his arm during his VC action. As a medal collector of more than three decades standing, I am used to gallantry decorations being accompanied by interesting and unusual memorabilia but this surely has to be a unique keepsake.
