The Information War

Collectable Books On the Shelf

These two magazine-format books from the Ministry of Information gave the official line on the World War Two campaigns in North Africa

While sorting out a couple of boxes of books unopened since before a couple of house moves I found myself putting each Ministry of Information book that I came across in a plastic storage box.

Before the box was full I realised that I had inadvertently amassed quite a collection. It was also evident that there are three distinct sizes that very roughly equate to A3, A4 and A5.

Different aspects of the war are covered including the land, sea and air campaigns as well as the home front. For this column, I have focused on two of the largest publications I own that also complement each other, namely The Battle Of Egypt and Tunisia.
