Matter of Fact

M26 Pacific Dragon Wagon
JOHN CARROLL

IN THE report on the Yorkshire Wartime Experience (October 2021) reference is made on page 38 to the fact that the newly restored M26 Dragon Wagon was part of a collection brought by Messrs Gray and Till. That is incorrect. The M26 Dragon Wagon, Ward La France M1A1 and Stuart M5A1 in that grouping are actually owned, and were brought to the show, by Paul and Max Shepherdson. The Dragon Wagon seen on its first ever outing is the result of a painstaking eight-year restoration by Max with much assistance from Paul, and the quality and scale of this bare chassis restoration, which included the combination of two incomplete armoured cabs, has recently been recognised with an award from the Transport Trust.

GOING THROUGH the latest issue of CMV (September 2021) I noticed the article on tank crews (Every Man a Hero) has an incorrect caption.

The picture on page 60 is said to be a Crusader but is actually an A13 Cruiser. The four road large wheels and glacis plate are the main recognition points.
