CANDIDATE BASING ANNOUNCED • LRIP 10 PROGRESS

An F-35A conducts a joint mission with an F-16C near Luke AFB, Arizona. Both jets are assigned to the 56th Fighter Wing at the Glendale, Arizona base. Lightning II and Fighting Falcon pilots are now conducting integrated training designed to improve mission cooperation and flight skills in both airframes.

THE USAF ANNOUNCED the selection of five installations as candidates for the next two Air National Guard F-35A basing locations on December 7. The facilities and the units involved include Alabama’s 187th Fighter Wing at Montgomery Regional Airport-Dannelly Field, Idaho’s 124th Fighter Wing at Boise Airport- Gowen Field, Florida’s 125th Fighter Wing at Jacksonville International Airport, Michigan’s 127th Wing at Selfridge Air National Guard Base in Mount Clemens, and Wisconsin’s 115th Fighter Wing at Dane County Regional Airport-Truax Field in Madison.
