When I was growing up in the mid-fifties and early sixties, Dinky Toys produced a range of World War Two military vehicles, and my pocket money was spent almost exclusively on these fascinating machines ranging from Jeeps to Tank transporters. You could keep your chocolate bars, footballs, cricket bats and all the other paraphernalia my contemporaries preferred to buy with their weekly stipend, but I’d save up until I could purchase the next desired army green kit.
