Callum Dickson joins the legions of online wargamers by starting with World of Tanks
World of Tanks is a phenomenon in the military vehicle gaming market and the appeal of driving some of my favourite tanks led me to give it go. World of Tanks is available to play on mobile devices, gaming consoles and both PC and MAC. I downloaded it onto my desktop PC featuring a Windows 10 operating system on Steam, an online game platform.
No worries if you don’t have Steam, you can also download it directly from the World of Tanks website. Setting up an account took five minutes and all I needed was an email address, password, and an in-game name. It is not a very graphically intensive PC game but if you are unsure the website does have information on the minimum requirements.
In preparation for a new account, some platforms offer a free ‘starter pack’ which gives bonus content allowing you to kick off the game on a slightly better foot.
For instance, you can get an extra garage slot for another tank, 150,000 credits and three days access to a premium account –a good way of getting ahead in the game without being restricted by a budget.
