MARCHING TO VICTORY

The 2023 Victory Show in Cosby, Leicestershire, more than lived up to its reputation as the premier 1940s military event in the UK, reports Tom Baker

The Victory Show featured many lovingly restored World War Two vehicles

Described as the ‘largest World War Two military show of its kind in the United Kingdom’, the Cosby-based Victory Show was eagerly anticipated this year, promising three days in early September of 1940s-themed fun. And, without a doubt, the show organisers certainly delivered on this promise; visitors were treated to more than 60 diverse trade stalls, a range of restored military vehicles, dedicated re-enactment groups, battle scenes and a multitude of aircraft on static display and performing flypasts.

Like last year, the show was held at the 100-acre Foxlands Farm in Leicestershire, just a short drive away from Cosby and the M1. Although queuing traffic was quite extensive, especially on the Sunday, dedicated teams of RAF and army cadets helped visitors park, before directing them to the ticket office and subsequent arena area.
