Craig Moore meets a man on a mission
Oliver Boyle is an engineer with a fascination for early military vehicles. He has been researching one of the British Army pioneers in the field, Lt Col Sir Giffard Le Quesne Martel. We have both spent time together in the National Archives at Kew doing research and after the last trip, while relaxing in a pub, he announced with pride that he had “done it” and added: “I have bought an old tractor for £1,000 off eBay and I am going to build a 1925 Martel tank.”
