Earlier this year I was invited to spend three days at the US Army Armor and Cavalry Collection (AACC) situated on the Fort Benning army base in Georgia, USA. Among its huge collection of armour, it has four Panther tanks and one of them is exceptionally rare – the only example of the Panther II hull ever completed.

I have found that data published in books and on some websites is often wrong, so to try and ensure that the information displayed on the website and in the books I write is correct: whenever I go to museums and military vehicle events I am armed with a notebook, tape measure and digital calliper.
