WELL, WOULDN’T you know it. I was just gathering material on the Gama Goat, including the details of its creation, technology etc and you pop up with a story (CMV March 2022).

I have a special link with this vehicle, having driven a prototype at the builder’s proving ground and being awarded a Gama Goat Cluster. Maybe it could be covered from that perspective later.

Army is doing its bit for the Platinum Jubilee

Several events to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee have been organised across the country by the armed forces and the government.

The four-day UK Bank Holiday weekend kicks off on Thursday, June 2 with Trooping the Colour – moved this year from the traditional second Saturday in June.

Also, on June 2, buglers and pipers will be supporting the lighting of Platinum Jubilee Beacons, throughout the UK.

On Friday, June 3, there will be a Service of Thanksgiving at St Paul’s Cathedral.

The Platinum Jubilee Pageant, including a military ceremonial parade down the Mall to Buckingham Palace, takes place on Sunday, June 5 Armed Forces Week will be held from June 20-25 culminating in Armed Forces Day on Saturday with the national event scheduled to take place in Scarborough.
