Some CMV magazine readers will, of course, remember the time before the internet and some may also remember the military vehicle scene in Britain really getting going during the 1970s. The two things are connected because, in those pre-internet days, everything to do with chronicling and cataloguing scenes around old vehicles, of any type, relied on paper and ink. That is undoubtedly one reason why Wheels and Tracks magazine is still remembered for its quality and authority rather than the fact that it had the military vehicle scene pretty much to itself.
Aside from that magazine there were various series of books for the spotter and owner of everything from buses to fire engines and military vehicles: I have a few on my bookshelves.
