RCAC Victoria Cross Sale Reaches £397,590

THE ONLY Victoria Cross awarded to a Canadian soldier during the 77 day Normandy Campaign has sold under the hammer by auctioneers Dix Noonan Webb.

The VC and medal group, awarded to Lieutenant Colonel David Vivian Currie, was listed with an expected sale price of between 500,000 and 600,000 Canadian Dollars (£307,000-368,000), but ultimately reached a hammer price of £397,590 writes LAUREN CANTILLON.
