RED TAILS VERSUS RAPTORS

The red-tailed 100th Fighter Squadron of the Alabama Air National Guard’s 187th Fighter Wing recently sent 11 Block 30 F-16C/D Fighting Falcons to Savannah, Georgia to go head-tohead with F-22 Raptors during Exercise ‘Sentry Savannah’.

‘Sentry Savannah’ offered the opportunity for the Alabama F-16 pilots to go up against and to work with 95th FS F-22s.

S ENTRY SAVANNAH’ IS a National Guard exercise that is earning itself a reputation around the US Air Force. The headline is that this is a large-force exercise (LFE), affectionately known as ‘fighter pilot camp’. And the focus is specific: fifth-generation fighter integration (FI).
