A unique, and to Russian citizens highly nostalgic, exhibition was held in Moscow in August 2014, celebrating the history of Soviet vehicle production from 1924 until the fall of the Soviet Union in 1991. The exhibition was ostensibly centred upon a large collection of civilian passenger vehicles, but also included a significant number of pristinely restored military vehicles.
