Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo Donates £1m

ORGANISERS OF the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo are donating £1m among 13 UK-based charities and arts bodies. The latest sum takes Tattoo contributions to such causes to £11m since they began in 1950.

The world-famous military spectacle will give £775,000 to armed services charities, including The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity, Scottish Amenities Fund, ABF The Soldiers’ Charity, Army in Scotland Trust, Army Piping Committee, 51 Infantry Brigade Welfare Fund, Edinburgh Garrison Welfare Fund, RAF Benevolent Fund, and Scottish National War Memorial.

Among other organisations to benefit are the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo Youth Talent Development Fund (run in conjunction with Creative Scotland), the Culture Project Fund (in partnership with The City of Edinburgh Council), and the Royal Lyceum Theatre.

The 2018 Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo saw 1,200 international performers entertain tens of thousands at the event’s 20th consecutive sell-out year.
