The heritage and history of “one of the finest regiments” in the British Army is recounted via pictures, words and interactive displays at Winchester’s fascinating The Royal Green Jackets (Rifles) Museum. Regular talks also add to the museum’s wide appeal.

Housed in the Peninsula Barracks, it contains more than 40,000 objects, ranging from uniforms and weapons – including examples of Baker Rifles used by the fabled 95th Rifles – to some poignant personal correspondence.
