A Saracen for all Reasons

David Fletcher looks at some of the FV603 Alvis Saracen variants

I have been wondering for some time how to present the Alvis FV600 series. Some were soft skins but still important members of the family, while the armoured types, the FV601 Saladin and FV603 Saracen were not well balanced in terms of variants.

However, this has rather been decided for me by the excellent article on a preserved Stolly that recently appeared in CMV. Mind you, now I come to think of it there was an armoured version of the Stalwart which perhaps I can squeeze in somewhere.

For the present, however, we are going to look at the Saracen, although there have been a lot of versions of it, so if I miss out your favourite I apologise in advance.
