Classic Military Vehicle reader Matt Hollingsworth shares the story of how a ‘toy’ GPA would lead his young son Jack onto a passion for military vehicles

An article that appeared in CMV a few issues ago (January 2021) on the small-scale Pink Panther Land Rover prompted me to write about my son Jack’s Ford GPA Toylander project that he builtseveral years ago.

Jack is now 21 and still owns the vehicle, which helped develop his interest in military vehicles from an early age. We first acquired the Toylander Jeep from a neighbour. It was an early one with separate steel chassis and plywood body and was in a dilapidated condition.
