Stirling Bomber Remains Found in North Sea

A STIRLING heavy bomber has been discovered in a major project to install a power cable between Britain and Norway. Engineers from the National Grid found the remains of the lost aircraft while conducting surveys of the seabed along the cable-laying route.

The wreckage is believed to be that of an aircraft which disappeared on a mission to deliver supplies to the Norwegian Resistance. Stirling’s frequently flew from East Anglian bases to drop supplies and ammunition to resistance fighters there.
