Vice Admiral Gordon Campbell, VC, DSO & Two Bars.
ONE OF the most celebrated Victoria Cross medals of the Great War, estimated to fetch in the region of £300,000, is to be auctioned by Morton & Eden in London on 23 November 2017. The VC was awarded to Vice Admiral Gordon Campbell (1886- 1953), who as Captain of the ‘Q-Ship’ Farnborough successfully destroyed the submarine U-83 on 17 February 1917.
