The Victory Show combines aircraft and military vehicle displays for a unique visitor experience

Scheduled towards the end of a busy military events calendar each year, many people could be forgiven for being ‘all showed out’ by the time the Victory Show rolls around in early September.

However, thanks to its unique take on the 1940s war years with a range of military vehicles and aircraft on display, it is well supported and draws large crowds. Held at Foxlands Farm near Cosby in Leicestershire, the Victory Show takes place over three days with Friday predominantly an educational day for school children and their teachers. Pupils can engage with re-enactors, ask questions and get up close to aircraft, tanks and other military vehicles giving them insight into life during World War Two. This year’s show took place September 6-8 and I attended on the Sunday, arriving soon after gates opened. It was a good time to visit. Although the sun was shining it wasn’t too hot and wasn’t overly busy – yet.
