I am writing in reply to the article on pg14, CMV 197, When Dinosaurs Roamed the Earth.
This brought back many fond memories for my grandfather Robert Lester who owns one of the vehicles photographed in the article. He drove a Ford GPW PHN 430 when he served in the RAF as a young man, and has owned one since the 1980s. He has taken his vehicle to Duxford and a few other shows over the years and, while he hasn’t exhibited it recently, he wanted Jim Arthurs and Roy Elgey to know that it is still in good working order.
I attach a photo of my grandfather in his Jeep, and another showing it on display in the Lake District in 1971.
