Hack Green, Secret Nuclear Bunker

Among the surprising items on display is a Daimler Dingo
There is something slightly amusing in seeing a huge brown heritage sign next to the road saying ‘Secret Nuclear Bunker - This Way’. Hack Green was indeed a secret nuclear bunker. Built to be the hub of northern regional government in the aftermath of a nuclear attack, it is 35,000sqft of bunker. Sold by the Ministry of Defence in 1995 and by 1998 it was opened to the public as a Cold War museum.
