EXTRAORDINARY SALES

Military Vehicle Market

Nigel Hay’s round-up of the military vehicle market

Patina Willys MB Slat grille Jeep at £49,999

April has seen an extraordinary level of vehicles coming up for sale across the board. Of course, some are “Normandy ready”, but most people who intend to go in June have already bought their vehicle and hopefully have thoroughly tested it.

A very quick sale was achieved for a unique and unspoilt 1941 Slat Grille Jeep with an asking price of £49,000. We have had a good selection of World War Two Jeeps for under £24,000 and Hotchkiss M201s for £17,000 or less. And we have noted good sales.

As a budget project, AMD Four Wheel Drive offered a viable 1942 Ford GPW fitted with a Willys ACM 1 body tub, original t84 transmission and a CJ2 engine for just £4,950.

Plenty of motorcycles have also been offered this month, including a Norton 16H 1941 at £7,250, an original Zündapp KS 750 sidecar combination for €65,000 and an Armstrong MT500 at £2,500.

This month’s entry-level motorcycle was a viable 1943 Matchless G3l project at £4,500, with a lovely original patina.
